Course Objectives:

By completion of this module, you will be able to

  • Use information about the physical barriers that provide the first line of defense against pathogens to explain how infection is prevented or occurs.
  • Apply knowledge the components of the immune system to explain how infections affect the body, including bone marrow, lymph system, thymus, spleen, white blood cells, antibodies, complement system, and hormones.
